Partnership
NLNG Wayfinder
Building a digital navigation system for one of Nigeria's largest residential campuses.
Context
Finsel DGI partnered with Nigeria LNG Limited's Estate Services Department to design and deploy a mobile-first wayfinding platform that helps residents, visitors, and operational staff navigate the Residential Area more efficiently.
The partnership brief was practical: ship software people would actually open on a phone while walking between facilities—not a brochure site, and not a multi-year GIS program before anything usable existed.
The Challenge
Large residential environments create an information problem.
Although the Residential Area already had physical signage and institutional knowledge, new residents, visitors, contractors and service providers still relied heavily on asking people for directions.
The Estate Services Department wanted to explore whether a lightweight digital navigation experience could improve orientation while reducing dependence on manual guidance.
Instead of replacing existing systems, the objective was to complement them with an accessible digital layer.
Discovery
Before writing a line of code, we met with Estate Services stakeholders to understand how people actually moved around the Residential Area.
Together we identified:
- common visitor journeys
- residential clusters
- public facilities
- operational landmarks
- navigation pain points
- future expansion opportunities
Rather than reproducing a paper map digitally, the goal became designing something people would naturally use on their phones while walking.
Solution
The result was the RA Wayfinder.
A mobile-first navigation platform built specifically for the Residential Area.
Core capabilities included:
- searchable locations
- interactive campus mapping
- categorised facilities
- optimised mobile experience
- operational content management
- scalable location architecture
Because the platform is web-based, users require no installation and can access it immediately from any smartphone.
How we delivered
Delivery followed the studio’s partnership model: short discovery against real residential area workflows, then a focused build and handoff into production use.

Outcomes
The pilot established a digital navigation foundation for the Residential Area.
The project demonstrated that:
- estate navigation can be delivered through lightweight web technology
- mobile-first experiences reduce friction for visitors
- operational location data can be centrally managed
- future estate services can build on the same digital infrastructure
The engagement also established a long-term relationship between Finsel DGI and the NLNG CSD/IMT Department for future digital initiatives.
What is next?
The Wayfinder pilot represents the first phase of a broader vision for digital estate operations.
Future opportunities include:
- resident services
- visitor management
- catering optimisation
- maintenance workflows
- estate communications
- operational analytics
Our approach is to build alongside our partners—delivering practical software that grows with operational needs rather than replacing existing processes.
Building digital infrastructure that lasts.
The Wayfinder pilot demonstrates our belief that meaningful software begins with understanding people before technology.
At Finsel DGI, we partner with organisations to solve operational problems through practical digital systems that continue delivering value long after deployment.
